Various assets I designed for the turn-based strategy game SHOCK TACTICS. All assets had to fit a 1x1m grid on the game area (Cover was height dependant so a lot of these had a 1m or 2m high cover area). I was responsible for the visual development of the look of the two main factions. I decided to go with a pioneer/building site look as I wanted the battles to happen on the forefront of planetary exploration. Most of these assets had to be relatively calm especially on ground level.
The two factions were supposed to look like the polar opposite to each other: The loosely connected Space Pioneers on one side and the militaristic consortium on the other. I assigned distinct colour palettes and made the consortium look much more fascist and stealthy.
Some of the assets were built in Max. Since our in-house 3D artist was using Blender I migrated to that program to make the workflow as seamless as possible.
